Henriksen Bud Six for PSG?
Has anyone tried a Henriksen Bud Six or Ten with pedal steel? I have a pickup truck sized twin speaker Webb and I thought something a bit more portable might be nice for travel. I see great things posted about Henriksen in classic guitar forums but wasn’t sure how it would work for pedal. Thanks.

I have actually. They work as well for steel as they do Jazz Guitar. It's a little bit dark, and the small speaker makes it sound slightly boxy to me. But they are portable, convenient, and clean. The Reverb is all right. If you wanna save a buck, try the DV Mark Little Jazz. I use that for practice in my apartment.

Played for years with a lead player (Larry Park), who used the Henricksen alone in a cafe venue... but added a 12" EV to the external for all other gigs... with the external speaker... sounded killer!

I borrowed the Combo with the 10" speaker and agree with all of Jack's comments, apart from "boxy" - perhaps the larger speaker makes the difference. My usual, small amp is also a Little Jazz and I often used that with a DV 12" ext. box for gigs. Both amps are very clean but the Henriksen's Reverb is far better.Jack Kilbride wrote:I have actually. Re: Henriksen Bud Six for PSG?
I recently picked up one of the older Buds (no bluetooth and A-B circuitry instead of class 'd) and am planning to use it in an upcoming theater production paired with an extension cabinet containing a Peavey 12" speaker. Space is always at a premium in these things so hoping it works well. They also usually want a line out to FOH and the Bud's is balanced and super quiet. I'll also probably be doubling on lead guitar so the 2nd channel will be useful and I like the Bud's effects loop arrangement. We shall see.....
