This is certainly an interesting development in the Weissenborn guitar's popularity.

weissenborn
Just 12 seconds into the clip you can see him with the Bastogne Walnut rope bound weissenborn we made down in New Zealand for Danny in January this year. Within six hours of delivery he was using it in the studio with Taylor Swift's producer, to start this project.
I guess the instrument went into some culture shock at first but it now looks quite comfortable reclining with those other guitars.

I was a huge Anthrax fan as a teenager - they were in fact the first band I went to see in concert.
So this puts a smile on my face.

The singer sounds ridiculous. I guess there's a reason 87.5% of my CD collection is instrumental - he probably sounded ridiculous with all those digitally-orgasmic heavy-metal guitars twinking and twanking away, you just didn't notice it as much. Next (?):
"Don Chaffin $hreds some Gospel $hit"
oh yeah, baby...Woo! woo....
(Add.) - I watched some of this interview, and there's an awful lot of credit (Mr. Spitz) being taken for reinventing the wheel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbsPkc2phXE
Regarding muting strings with the right hand (as opposed to lifting the bar), he had to invent that himself because:
4:45: "No one's ever really done this before."
Can his instructional video be far behind...

Dan reads this board, David.
Anthrax kicked it, back in the day, and I'm not even a metal fan.
I love Dan! He's the real deal, one of those larger-than-life guys with a dear heart and a really mind-blowing list of accomplishments. I cannot wait to see where he this next chapter of his life takes him and the Weissenborn. It's going to be really good. I hope he takes luthiers Paddy Burgin, Bill Asher and Larry Pogreba with him.

Re: DII Band: Dan Spitz (ex-Anthrax) on Weissenborn
Found this old thread because I just found this now older.. weissenborn. Hoping it sounds as great as I think it will.. am awaiting shipment from second owner who bought it from Dan. Should arrive tomorrow.
FWIW… I’ve been waiting for quite a while for a weissie from another Dan.. Brauchli. May never happen, sadly. . But I have a Michael Dunn 7 string.. and soon this Burgin.. so I have no excuse to not be in weissie heaven.
And I agree with @lizwilliams. Anthrax kicked it. Good for evolving and bragging.. the autism support thang is commendable.
