According to Grateful Dead roadie Steve Parish, no. Jerry was strictly an E9 guy.

There is a music repair store in Idaho Falls that has that exact dobro model for sale, same fretboard inlay. Never been played as far as I could tell. I wonder how many of those the “Dobro” (O.M.I.) company made in the 80’s.? I played the one in Idaho Falls, I was smitten with the amazing mother-of-pearl inlay fretboard work. But after playing it I realized that for me it would be a wall hangar not a working dobro: There is no way to tell where the heck you are on the neck because of the over-whelming amount of inlay.
A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.
